There are so many ways to support DHS Athletics through your involvement in the booster club. It is a truly fantastic way to support your student-athlete(s).
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
EXECUTIVE BOARD
President and/or Co-Presidents
Serve as the Chief Executive Officer and act as the primary spokesperson for the organization with DHS Athletics, District 113, and the community. Work closely with Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director. Preside at monthly Booster Club Meetings and oversee all administrative functions and duties of the organization.
Vice President and/or Co-Vice President
Act as aide to the President(s) and assist in the coordination of all projects and events and support all administrative functions and duties as needed. Lead the Athletic Scholarship Committee. Attend booster club meetings and volunteer for in-person events at DHS.
Secretary
Prepare, preserve, and publish the meeting minutes of monthly booster club and executive meetings. Attend booster club meetings and volunteer for in-person events at DHS.
Co-Treasurer
Establish and maintain financial control of the organization, keep full and accurate accounts, including deposits, disbursements, and expense management. Maintain a complete set of books in accordance with standard accounting principles and practices. Review and report the financial condition of the organization at monthly Booster Club meeting and executive meetings as needed. Attend booster club meetings and volunteer for in-person events at DHS.
Member At-Large
Assist in the coordination of projects and events as delegated by the President or Executive Board and serve as a consultant regarding issues confronting the Executive Board. Attend booster club meetings and volunteer for in-person events at DHS.
CHAIRPERSONS/COMMITTEES
Sports Reps (for each team, can be one person or two individuals working together) OPEN to volunteers year-round
Liaison between the booster club, the coach/team, and families. Attend monthly booster club meetings (throughout year not just when in season), promote membership and participation with team families, work with warrior spirit wear committee to create sport specific gear if desired, provide regular updates and photos, including post-season events to the social media team during the season for publication on the website and newsletters.
Sport Rep Chairperson
Maintain the sports rep roster with sports rep and coach information. Provide communication guidance and support materials to sports reps. Assist with funding information and presentation materials before each team’s start-of-season meeting and assist with recruiting new sports reps as needed. Aid in requesting updates and photos for the social media team.
OPEN - Website Manager
Manage the booster club website and update content for each sports season. Responsible for the launch and shut down of the spirit wear and yard sign online store and membership pages for each school year. Graphic design knowledge and Weebly/Square experience are helpful.
OPEN - Social Media/Public Relations Manager
Promote the booster club and all student athletes by maintaining the organization's social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. Communicate student-athlete accomplishments, booster club achievements, and work with each team’s sports reps and the Athletic Director(s) to communicate a consistent and complementary message through social media for each sports team’s season.
Develop content, build, and publish regular email blasts during each sports season. Work with sports reps on team updates and pictures.
OPEN - Social Media Coordinator (Student position)
Promote the booster club and all student athletes by maintaining the organization's social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. Communicate student-athlete accomplishments, booster club achievements, and work with each team’s sports reps and the Athletic Director to communicate a consistent and complementary message through social media for each sports team’s season.
Future Warrior Committee
Liaison with the local middle schools and elementary schools to promote engagement at high school athletic events, promote the future warrior fast pass for football and basketball games, promote warrior spirit wear, and communicate with principals and parent organizations as needed.
Creative Content Consultant
Assist all committees with messaging and creative content, manage email blasts from Weebly to booster club members, develop/revamp booster club PowerPoint presentation for the school year, assist with content for parent organization email blast (monthly), assist with announcements to include in principal newsletter (as needed).
Warrior Spirit Wear Chairperson/Committee – OPEN to volunteers year-round
Responsible for the management, ordering, and distribution of spirit wear. Work with sports reps/coaches on presale requests. Work with vendor on design and creative, coordinate with sports reps on custom warrior wear, establish pricing, manage in-person sales events, and manage page/shop on the booster club website.
Membership Chairperson/Committee - OPEN to volunteers year-round
Handle all aspects of membership, including promotion, distribution of membership kits, key fob design, and membership brochure design, and work with a creative content volunteer as needed. Assist with in-person events, including recruiting volunteers for various events such as open houses, home football games, and activity nights.
Yard Sign Chairperson/Committee
Responsible for the management, ordering, and distribution of booster club yard signs. Work with the yard sign vendor to create signs for each team, place orders with the vendor three (3) times per year, and manage stock and distribution of yard signs to buyers.
Scholarship Chairperson/Committee
Responsible for co-managing the senior scholarship program with the VP, working directly with the athletic department in March/April to launch the process, providing applications/essays to booster club members for voting, finalizing the process, and announcing winners in May.
Advertising Chairperson/Committee
Responsible for management of advertising contracts, assist with new contracts, communicate with community partners and future partners, work with the athletic department and District 113 to make sure terms of the contracts are followed; banners, scoreboard promos, in-house TV promos, etc.
